Lowbrow - [ Fancy Punk from So Cal ]

Postby Uncle Fundip » Jun 14th, '11, 20:51

Hey guys. I know it's been forever since I posted the teaser stuff. We've been currently remixing the record with a different engineer, and it's sounding bigger and better than before. It's super close to being done. What's even better is we'll be going into the studio with him for a day to record a new song or two, so we'll have some bonus goodies for you in a couple months.

In the the mean time, we played our first real show in over a year last Saturday. I just uploaded the videos (missing two songs, camera died). Jason from Trigger Finger helped us out by filling in on bass. Check them out, and I'll have new songs for you super soon, I promise!

@dark - I know man. It's been a long, annoying process.

@nick - This is the first release that I've been involved with. Daniel (singer) and Derek (drummer) recorded and EP forever ago. I'll upload that when I get home.

@napalm - I'm super serious this time, ha. Should be within the next two weeks, unless something awful happens.

Edit : I downloaded the song on the website (the only one which is downloadable) and I think I might have listened to it more than 50 times. haha. incredibly good.

Yes sir. We are going completely DIY for this record. I'm already got the album layout set up, just gotta get master tracks that we're happy with and we'll be good to go.

Out of curiosity, which song was it?

the first one, it's called false comparisons now I think ?? it's the song that was on facebook searching for a name... it's the only one downloadable from that page :

http://www.lowbrowband.com/music.html

if you have any other songs or teasers you can send I'd appreciate very much :P

don't know if I already asked but will the CD booklet contains lyrics?

Ha, False Comparisons is the placeholder name. Still haven't named it (we suck). Forgot I put the MP3 link on that page.

It probably won't have lyrics. We don't have a huge budget to press the CDs, so it'll be cheaper to get discs with just a card insert and have the lyrics online (like they already are).

As for teasers, these are new songs that I've written for the next album (instrumentals).:
Fort Kickass (we'll be recording this one in a month or so)
Johnny Tappleseed
Explosive Amnesia
Tapagandhi

And then finally, here is the original Lowbrow EP. It was recorded before I was around in 2001, which is before I was even a musician:

Lowbrow EP:
1. Smokescreen
2. Courage to Be
3. Stonewall
4. True Life
5. Numerics Disease
6. Bazaar
7. Skyscraper (Bad Religion Cover)

The best part of those videos was the bass player.

And the fact that he was actually moving? Some of his rockin out was a little out of time, but it was good just to see him moving.

He has been promoted from statue to mechanical side-show figure (like at Chuck E. Cheese).
